Highwire is an agency which creates, designs, develops and structures communication materials of all types. We particularly excel where complex information needs to be made easier to understand or to suit the needs of a particular audience.

Our core skills are those of graphic design, illustration, copywriting and programming which we apply to website design, usability consultancy and internal standards intranets as well as traditional paper publications.

The founding partners of Highwire are Rick Osman and Michael Townshend.

After a career as a journalist, editor and publisher Rick was invited to join an architectural practice which was extending its skills into graphic design and marketing materials for the construction industry. Working with organisations throughout the construction chain from architects’ practices and clients, and from small one-person product inventors to large contractors as well as associations and educational organisations, Rick well understands the marketing requirements of working with complex audiences.

Following academic studies in literature and design Michael moved into a career in graphic design. Since then he has extended his skills to become an expert programmer in a number of computer languages as well as developing specialist knowledge about how the worldwide web is used and inproving usability of websites.

The results of Highwire’s unrivalled understanding, interpretation and presentation are seen as websites, intranets and publications that promote and communicate convincing information that successfully meets audience needs.
